Labor Day!

Well, we were going to do the Mackinaw Bridge Walk on Labor Day!  They close down one side of the bridge, and you can walk across (5-6 miles) anytime between 7 and 11 am.  BUT, as I said before, someone changes the thermostat in September, and it was cold (55+) and windy (15-20mph), so we decided not to go.  Instead we headed south to Ann Arbor where it was warmer, and went to the Matthaei Botanical Gardens.  It was beautiful!!

These plants were all in the conservatory and were very unusual.  I guess I should have written the names down!

They also had a Bonsai and Penjing Garden that was way cool!

Happy, relaxed,  Andy!

Gateway Garden

I loved the herbal garden but for some reason didn't take any pictures.  It was a beautiful day-warmer than it was at the bridge.  We had a picnic lunch in the gardens, and lots of leisurely stroll time!
We also drove around Ann Arbor a little.  It's a beautiful town-lots of trees, and the University of Michigan campus was quite large and nice!
